Competent Communicator (CC)

To receive this award, a member must complete the basic Communication and Leadership Program manual.  An award application is in the back of the manual.

This manual is comprised of 10 manual speeches which build basic speaking skills.

The speech projects are:

1.  The Ice Breaker (4-6 minutes)                        6.  Vocal Variety (5-7 minutes)

2.  Organize Your Speech (5-7 minutes)              7.  Research Your Topic (5-7 minutes)

3.  Get to the Point (5-7 minutes)                        8.  Get Comfortable with Visual Aids (5-7 minutes)

4.  How to Say It (5-7 minutes)                           9.  Persuade with Power (5-7 minutes)

5.  Your Body Speaks  (5-7 minutes)                 10.  Inspire Your Audience (8-10 minutes)

When you have completed the manual, ask your VP of Education to submit your CC Application to Toastmasters International.  You will receive a CC Certificate along with a letter to your employer if you elect to have one sent.  If this is your first CC, you can also select 2 advanced manuals that TI will send to you free of charge to start you on your Advanced Communicator path.
